During the month of September, 160 children graduated from the Community-Based Orphan Support Program (CBOSP). Those who graduated received either a tool kit package or cash gift as a celebration from ALARM as they launch into their futures. These young people are sharp individuals who have demonstrated a good work ethic and commitment to develop into responsible adults.
359 children remain in this program and are supported by ALARM and their respective mentors. The 103 children who receive food support from ALARM were provided with their food each month in the third quarter. Two of the Pader Center students joined this program and because of the received support, they increased their daily meals from 1 meal to at least 2 meals a day.
It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of one of the children who was part of this program and dearly loved. Raymond passed away due to COVID-19 and other ailments. His funeral took place in August and ALARM contributed to these arrangements and 17 mentors and 13 children attended the ceremony to celebrate his life.
This program continues to raise up young people to know they are loved and to grow into responsible adults who have bright futures ahead. We are so proud of each of these children who are a part of this big ALARM family!
