South Sudan: The Pastoral Leadership Training Institute – Yida Session 1

The Pastoral Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) trains pastors and church leaders in Biblical, theological, leadership, and reconciliation principles and practices while cultivating pastoral skills and encouraging an expansive love of God and others. The program seeks to achieve ALARM’s goal which is to strengthen and empower the African church by equipping the untrained leadership with basic pastoral skill and ministerial tools. Our passion is to enable the African leaders to develop Biblically-based churches that are spiritually vibrant and whose message is culturally relevant, ministering to the whole person and bringing hope and healing to the hurting communities.

On May 10th-22nd, ALARM South Sudan facilitated the Pastoral Leadership and Training Institute (PLTI) trainings for 67 Sudanese pastors from Darfur and Nuba Mountains. As these participants attended these sessions, they were trained in the essentials of ministry. After the 2-week training was completed, the participants shared about the impact these sessions had on them. “I am very grateful and proud of ALARM for bringing this program to us in Yida. It has helped us to discover the Bible deeply in our lives. Especially when I received my Arabic Bible studies it helped me a lot. I thank the leadership of ALARM. May God continue to use you to bring hope for our people. For me, I will begin from now to start sharing the hope of Christ and will be an agent of peace in my community.”
