ALARM Kenya, in partnership with Excellence in Giving, empowered 53 women in 2021 through the provision of dual-purpose goats and training in animal husbandry skills. These goats are valuable because they produce milk that offsets malnutrition, they reproduce which multiplies their impact, and they can be sold for income generation. These 53 women received 142 goats and are now encouraged to pass their knowledge and goats’ offspring on to other vulnerable community members. ALARM Kenya continues to monitor the impact of this project and is working alongside the women as they prepare to pass forward some of their baby goats.
