On November 15th-16th, ALARM Burundi held an entrepreneurship training for 24 of the guardians who are involved with the Community-Based Orphan Support Program. The objective of this training was to equip these guardians with the tools and training to form 3 groups that will work together to start entrepreneurial projects that will ultimately provide support for each individual family. ALARM trained these guardians in entrepreneurial, business, and psychosocial skills and then gave each group $250 of capital to launch their projects. “I never imagined I would have skills like these as I had repeatedly tried to start an income-generating activity to economically develop but failed every time. I am happy that this time I will work with my friends of the group and I am sure that the group will constitute a force to manage well this project which we have chosen. I hope that this project will help us to grow economically gradually”.
