The current class of 70 students at the Brenda Tailoring School has remained active even in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. In April, the students were trained in tailoring techniques such as cutting and sewing specific garments. They also attended a 6-day training where they were taught how to be their own boss which included topics in hygiene, health, leadership, marketing, entrepreneurship, and other business topics. The United Nations Mission for the Stabilization of the Congo (UNMSCO) held a gender-based violence awareness-raising activity for the students. This awareness-raising was strategic in that the women now are empowered to raise awareness in their communities.
