Pader Technical School

Pader Technical School provides healing and hope by giving the most desperate adolescents of Northern Uganda vocational skills that allow them to become productive self-sustaining citizens.  In addition, each student receives the spiritual mentoring, trauma healing, and life skills required to recover from the devastation and loss they have experienced.

THE FACTS:

  • 22 years of unthinkable devastation in Uganda due to civil war, pandemics, poverty, and the denial of many basic human rights.
  • Many adolescents under the age of 25 were often denied a childhood, education, or any sense of family due to constant displacement or being abducted and trained as soldiers.
  • As part of their involvement in the atrocities of war, many adolescents not only experience rejection, but also deal with their own brokenness, including guilt, trauma and grief
  • District of Pader only has two secondary schools and no vocational schools. The closest programs that offer these services are hours away and typically charge tuition.
THESE STUDENTS HAVE NO SKILLS AND NO FUTURE...
UNLESS THEY LEARN A TRADE.
