NEWS RELEASE: ALARM’s International Director

Meredith Wheeler

On behalf of ALARM’s Board of Directors, I would like to officially announce the appointment of Meredith E. Wheeler to position of International Director effective of March 1, 2010.   This appointment is an important answer to prayer and the conclusion of a lengthy search process.  We praise God!

Meredith’s primary responsibilities will involve oversight of the U.S. and European organizations; building relational networks with like-minded churches, individuals and organizations; fund-raising, and reconciliation training in the U.S. and Africa. His wealth of experience as a Pastor for 30 years, and most recently as Vice-President of Laidlaw College in Auckland, New Zealand, will be a great asset to the ALARM team.

Meredith has served on the board of RREACH International and as a founding member of T.O.P.I.C. He is also a Consultant/Trainer specializing in Decision-Making, Crisis/Critical Communication, Conflict Resolution, Organizational Evaluation, Strategic Thinking and Planning, Developing a Learning Culture, and Managing Change. His work as a consultant/trainer has given him opportunity to travel extensively both nationally and internationally (some of the countries include: Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Germany, Poland, Columbia, Indonesia, the Middle East, and Mexico). Meredith holds a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Temple University in Communication Sciences with a focus on Conflict, Mediation and Leadership. He has been involved internationally in pastoral and leadership training for more than twenty years and has served on ALARM’s board of directors for the past seven years.

Meredith is married to Naomi, and the couple has two children: Benjamin (27) and Rebekah (23).
