Celestin Reports from Juba, South Sudan
Posted on October 03, 2011

Greetings from Juba, South Sudan!
I have been here for the last few days attending the International Ecumenical Conference on the Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Sudan. On Saturday I was invited to attend a meeting of the Sudan Ecumenical Forum which is mainly composed of international organizations that parter with the Sudan Council of Churches in both South Sudan and Sudan.
I had the privilege to speak to the delegates and expressed ALARM's continued commitment to build the church by developing servant leaders, reconciling relationships and transforming communities in both the Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Sudan. I also called upon these partners, who focus mostly on advocacy, relief, and development, to not neglect the development of church leaders which we believe is the key to any other social and communal development.
Please keep praying for us as we see a great need to train godly, spiritual leaders in this new nation as well as for the church in the north that is facing persecution, political brutality and tribal violence.
Leaders need encouragement, support, prayers, and skills to deal with these great challenges. Continue to partner with us in this historic time.
Grace to you,
Celestin
